Republic of G - Pattern Use & Copyright Guidelines
©Republic of G, [2025]
Hey there, creative soul!
We’re so glad you’re here. Each digital pattern you purchase from Republic of G is an original design, hand drawn, thoughtfully crafted, and made with love. We want you to enjoy bringing it to life, but please take a moment to review how you can (and can’t) use it.
The Basics:
All of our sewing patterns, images, and tutorials are protected under U.S. and international copyright law. By downloading our patterns, you’re agreeing to use them in a way that respects the time, creativity and effort that went into making them.
Please don’t:
Resell or redistribute the PDF (even if it’s altered or remixed).
Share the file with others via email, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.
Post the file (or direct links) publicly - including on social media or forums.
Claim the pattern or design as your own.
Use it to drive traffic to your website or content.
Send the file to a manufacturer or factory to mass-produce items.
Use our product photos or images to market your own work.
Please do:
Save the files to your personal computer or cloud storage.
Print and use the pattern for personal projects or small-batch handmade sales (see “Business Use” below).
Share your finished makes on social media and take us @_republicofg so we can celebrate with you!
Give credit when sharing your creations made with our pattern.
Reach out if you’re unsure how you can use the pattern. We’re happy to help!
What We Mean by “Business Use”
Yes, you can use our patterns to make finished goods for sale, as long as it’s small-scale and handmade. Here’s what that means:
You’re a solo maker or work with a small team (two or fewer people).
Your products are handmade or produced mostly in-house.
You sell on platforms like Etsy, your own site, markets, etc.
You are not outsourcing the production to manufacturers or mass producers.
If you’re outsourcing part of your production but doing most work yourself - send us a message first. We want to support makers, but we do draw a clear line at third-party mass production.
Legal Note:
We reserve all rights to the patterns and associated content. Unauthorized distribution or commercial misuse may result in legal action. But more importantly - it’s just not cool.
